Robert Laynton has engaged in photography as an occasional hobby since the early 1970’s, mainly focusing on landscape work, with occasional forays into portraiture, as well as engaging in a photographic documentary project recording the area where he lives. Academic studies and life events have sometimes put photography on hold, but now that he has retired, he has more time to indulge in this pastime. Originally working with 35mm Transparency film, he moved to digital photography early in the millennium. His other interests include spirituality, psychology, walking, jazz, reading American Crime Fiction from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s, vintage comics and magazines, and watching classic movies, especially film noir. He lives in England.
