Dream-like landscape

The landscape at Formby has a dream-like quality, especially when photographed in black and white. The stark shape and texture of the tree contrasts with the smooth sandy curves of the dunes.

The elements of sea and sand soon begin to ravage the fencing put up to help to slow down the erosion of the coastline at Formby Point, Lancashire, England – but for me it makes a beautiful and austere landscape.
